A Busy Year Is Planned

Happy New Year!  The Board met and mapped out a busy year of events to look forward to.

DAG will participate in two Fridays at the Fair on the Square in Delhi in July.  We will also participate in the Harvest Festival in Delhi at the end of September.  We will hold our annual fundraising Chicken BBQ in Delhi this fall.  In October, don't miss the Annual Meeting and dish-to-pass luncheon.  And the 2012 holiday group show at Fox Care will be entitled "Joy."  This is in addition to four workshops, mentioned below.  Look for more details in future newsletters

We are planning four exciting workshops in 2012. Susan Priest  (746-3220) will offer two  Life Drawing workshops (with live models) on  the 4th Sat. in April and the 4th Sat. in August.  On May 7th, Jeanette Koji (746-3399) will offer "Watercolors That Paint Themselves."  And in October, Kay Parisi-Hampel (363-7303) will offer a workshop on ATC (artist trading cards) and collage.  Look for more details in future newsletters.  If interested, please call the teachers

View our Classes and Workshop page to see photos from our workshops.

Rotating Artists

IIn this program, artists exhibit their work at local venues.  Our club is privileged to have some of the top-exposure locations in the area.  And despite the economy, sales are being made!  To join and take advantage of the benefits, it costs $15 for the year, due now.  Please call Jeanette Koji (607-746-3399) to sign up today.  Then send your check, payable to the Delhi Art Group, to:  Ann Law, Treasurer, 11646 State Hwy. 357, Franklin, NY  13775. We have locations that accommodate  large collections of art, and others that  highlight smaller collections.  Or you can share a spot with another artist.  If enough people sign up for the program, we may consider placing ads in local newspapers to draw more attention to your exhibit.  Don't delay---join today!

Donate a Painting or Print

Being a non-profit organization, we are always appreciative of ways we can increase revenue in order to keep our club afloat.  It was suggested that maybe our artists would like a donate a painting or print which we could sell at the Fair on the Square or Harvest Festival this year, proceeds of which would help defray costs of our classes.  Your name would clearly be displayed as a donor. Please give this some thought and contact Susan Priest if interested.

The Passing of a Friend...

With the passing of Caroline Huyck in December, those of us who knew her have lost a friend who shared with us her passion for painting.  One of DAG's founding members, Caroline was an energetic and conscientious Treasurer and board member.  She often invited us to her beautiful gardens to paint en plein aire.  She truly will be missed.  If anyone would like to express thoughts to Caroline's family, you may write to her daughter, Linda Olmstead, 8 Highland Ave., Sidney, NY 13838.  Knowing how much Caroline loved DAG, her family has asked that any donations in her name be made to the Delhi Art Group, c/o Ann Law, Treasurer, 11646 State Hwy. 357, Franklin, NY  13775.  Thanks to member Robert Blanton for his donation in memory of Caroline.
