"Creativity takes courage."  Henri Matisse

We are all in this together....to enjoy art, to share our creativity with others and to experience the thrill of selling our work.  You could make such a huge difference and lighten the load of the group by coming forward and donating a few hours a YEAR.  Please call Susan Priest at 607 746-3220 and come forward this year to give those same few dedicated members a break.  Your help can be appreciated in so many ways!

Rotating Artist Program

Ann Law is in the process of compiling information and rules for the Rotating Artist Program.  More artists are joining and more spaces are being provided.  At the annual meeting, we voted to increase the annual fee for the rotating artists to $15.00.  This fee is due by January 1st of each year.  Everyone must pay the fees by this date in order to reserve a space to hang your work.  This is a very successful program and a great way to get your art out there.  We have many smaller spaces now, so everyone can have enough to hang.  When you pay the fee, you receive the new information, which will include a map of Fox Care Center in Oneonta, New York.  We will also be increasing our publicity for this program through the efforts of Caroline Huyck.

2008 Dairy Fest

The 2008 Dairy Fest  (June 14 & 15, 2008) will once again be seeking artists to paint wooden cut-out cows.  If you would like to try, or want more information you can call Susan Priest at 607 746-3220.  For those chosen, free paint from Golden will be provided.  Your cow will be auctioned off at the Dairy Fest to help support the Meridale Fire Department.  You will also be provided with a space at the Dairy Fest to show and sell your art and to talk to prospective bidders for the cows.

Upcoming Shows

A 2008 DAG Thematic Show is in the works!  This challenge is being put out to everyone....in whatever medium you choose, to do a piece of art on the word ALONE.  Then in December 2008, we will display all of the artwork in a group show at the Fox Care Center, Oneonta, New York.  Join the challenge and fun!

Thank You

A huge thank you to all the members who donated their time at the Chicken BBQ Fundraiser on October 19, 2007 and for the support of the community members which made this a very successful event.
